On Sunday, November 25, 2018, 9 am-2 pm, the Lightner Museum will be participating in Museum Store Sunday. This is only the second year of Museum Store Sunday, but it is not small; there are 700 Museum Stores representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia, twelve countries, and four continents. Museum Store Sunday is managed by the Museum Store Association and their sponsors and volunteers.

You’ll be able to sip and shop! There will be a mimosa bar, hot coffee, and donuts. A harpist will fill the mezzanine with the sounds of the season while you shop in the stores. And if you get hungry, have some lunch at the Cafe Alcazar! When you present your museum admission ticket to your server at the Café Alcazar, you can receive 15% off your check. Visitors will receive 15% off their store purchases and museum members will receive 25% off store purchases.  Additionally, the first twenty-five patrons to show their admission ticket to a museum store clerk will receive a free gift.

The museum store has something for everyone. From jewelry, scarves, ornaments, puzzles, and historical books, the Lightner Museum store can assist with your Holiday buying needs.

“We are thrilled to be participating in this year’s Museum Store Sunday and to be able to interact with our patrons and the community,” said Janice Phelan, Lightner Museum Store Manager. “This year, we are excited to offer this special shopping experience for our visitors, and to showcase broad assortments of highly curated, unique, mission-specific gifts.”

Ione Saroyan, President of the MSA Board of Directors and Director of Merchandise Operations at The New York Historical Society Museum and Library, continued, “After the success of 2017, we are excited to have a number of great institutions be part of Museum Store Sunday. This initiative gives people a chance to support local businesses, give back to the community through local non-profit museums, support good causes, find unique holiday gifts, and enjoy an entertaining and educational experience at favorite museums, all at the same time.”

Come out, do a little shopping, and support the Lightner Museum!
