Join Florida Humanities and the Lightner Museum for the grand opening of their new cut glass exhibition gallery with a special visit by one of the United States’ most recognized contemporary master crystal cutters, Pepi Herrmann. The evening’s events will begin with an introduction by Lightner Museum educator, Alison Schaeffler-Murphy, who will discuss the historical prominence of the Gilded Age’s Brilliant Period from 1890 – 1915. Artisan Pepi Herrmann will share his fascination with the lost art form explaining the techniques in creating cut glass. This presentation is sure to demonstrate the importance of the lost art form’s revival. After the presentation, guests will join Herrmann and Schaeffler-Murphy for an exclusive walk through of the newly opened Brilliant Cut Glass Gallery. This is a free event but reservations are required.
