Celebrate the reopening of the Lightner Museum’s grand ballroom gallery with a preview of our new exhibition, The Gilded Age: Treasures from the Lightner Museum.

The Gilded Age (1865-1914) was a transformative time in America. During these years, the United States achieved new levels of sophistication in painting, sculpture, architecture, and the decorative arts, establishing itself as a cultural force on the world stage for the first time.

Amassed by museum founder Otto Lightner during his years as a publisher in Chicago, The Gilded Age: Treasures of the Lightner Museum presents a lavish display of fine and decorative art created during a defining time in American history.

Live music by Raisin Cake Orchestra. Guests should enter through the Radzinski Family Garden located at the rear of the museum.
