Exhibition Opening | A Moment in Time: America 250
Plein Air Paintings from America’s First Coast
Join us on Thursday, March 19 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. to celebrate the opening of A Moment in Time: America 250. This is a free community event. Guests should enter the building through the Radzinski Garden located at the rear of the building.
As the nation marks its semiquincentennial, the Lightner Museum and the First Coast Plein Air Painters celebrate the enduring beauty of Northeast Florida and its role in America’s story. Since the late nineteenth century, artists have been drawn to the region’s expansive skies, historic architecture, and diverse landscapes—supported by patrons visiting Henry Flagler’s grand Gilded Age hotels.
A Moment in Time: America 250 is a juried exhibition of new works by member artists, continuing this legacy by capturing the region’s ever-changing light and atmosphere through contemporary plein air painting.
A Moment in Time is presented by the Lightner Museum in partnership with the First Coast Plein Air Painters. Support for the exhibition comes from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council; the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture; the Florida Council on Arts and Culture; and the National Endowment for the Arts.
