Upstairs/Downstairs Tour and Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist Exhibition

Join us for a behind the scenes view of what life was like for the aristocrats and the staff who served them during the Gilded Age at the Hotel Alcazar at the Lightner Museum’s Upstairs/Downstairs tour and a viewing of Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist exhibition.

Upstairs Downstairs and Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist

This acclaimed tour offers a behind the scenes view of what life was like for the aristocrats who stayed at the Hotel Alcazar and the staff who served them during the Gilded Age. Immerse yourself in the history of the museum’s building, the former Hotel Alcazar, as the tour winds its way through spaces not typically seen by the general public. General admission to the Museum is included.

Groups will also receive a docent-led overview of Lightner’s spring exhibit, Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist – Works on Paper by the Artist and His Circle (April 12 – June 16, 2019).

Tours are limited to 10 people per group (larger groups will be separated). Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your tour to allow time to check in. Please allow a minimum of 2½ hours in the Museum to include the Upstairs Downstairs Tour, visiting the Degas exhibit, and viewing the rest of the museum.
