Linda Sperruzzi: Colors of St. Augustine

June 1, 2023 – July 17, 2023

“My goal is to bring the viewer peace and a sense of calmness as they view my work. I hope they are immersed in the patterns and colors that combine to present St. Augustine in unique and unexpected ways.” —Linda Sperruzzi

Linda Sperruzzi presents a striking vision of the historic city of St. Augustine in her exhibition, Colors of St. Augustine.

Sperruzzi brings a contemporary vision to landscape painting while embracing historic traditions and techniques. Marked by the weaving and layering of planes of color and small brushstrokes that form complex fields of complementary and contrasting hues, Sperruzzi’s work is informed by an Impressionist aesthetic while also synthesizing the influences of Post-Impressionism and Fauvism. Whether depicting urban settings or the natural world, her vibrant paintings masterfully present the fleeting effects of light on the environment, encompassing immediacy and motion through expressive brushwork.
